Is this a replacement for AA or therapy? +
No. If AA works for you, keep going. If you need a therapist, get one. This is a tool — a really good one — but it's not a substitute for human support or medical care. Think of it as the coach that's there at 3am when your sponsor is asleep and your therapist is out of reach.
What if I'm a heavy daily drinker? +
Please talk to a doctor before you stop. Heavy daily alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous and in rare cases fatal — it's different from quitting nicotine or weed. The app will flag this during onboarding and point you to medical resources. We'd rather you quit safely than not at all.
Is my data private? +
Yes. Your conversations with the coach, check-ins, and personal data are stored encrypted, never sold, and never shared with third parties. You can export or delete everything anytime. We're not building this to harvest data — we're building this to help people.
Does this actually use AI or is it scripts? +
Real AI. The coach runs on a large language model with a custom prompt trained on decades of lived sobriety experience. It's not a decision tree with 50 canned responses. It actually understands context, remembers your story, and responds to you.
